40th Annual Scientific Meeting of the
European Society for Clinical Investigation

Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the Local Organizing Committee it is my great pleasure to invite you to join the 40th Annual Scientific Meeting of the European Society for Clinical Investigation (ESCI) that will take place in Prague, Czech Republic in 2006. Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, built up over the centuries by the greatest architects, artists and craftsmen of their time, largely untouched by the wars of the 20th century, reclaimed and refurbished after 40 years of communism, on the eve of entry into the European Union, is now a splendid mosaic, a harmonious mix of the past, present and future that must be seen to be believed.
The European Society for Clinical Investigation was established in 1967 as Society to provide a unique multidisciplinary platform for scientists engaged in basic research as well as clinical research. Through the organization of the annual meetings the Society undoubtedly contributed not only to better communication and understanding between scientists from basic and clinical research, but also to the remarkable advances in both field of science. The organizers hope that the scientific program together with the beauty of Prague will make this meeting an exciting and memorable event for all participants.
