It is with great enthusiasm that we invite you to the 60th Annual Scientific Meeting of the European Society for Clinical Investigation (ESCI), to be held in Lisboa, Portugal, from 3 to 5 June 2026, hosted at the historic campus of NOVA Medical School, Universidade NOVA de Lisboa.
This year’s meeting will celebrate the enduring connection between science and society—how research continues to chart new frontiers in improving human health, just as the Portuguese navigators once charted new oceans. In the 15th and 16th centuries, Portugal launched an age of discovery, powered by curiosity, ingenuity, and science. The same spirit drives today’s biomedical breakthroughs—from AI-enabled diagnostics to gene editing and precision therapies.
In the words of Fernando Pessoa, one of Portugal’s greatest literary voices:

We believe this is the soul of science—the pursuit of knowledge for the common good.
Our 2026 scientific program will be ambitious and diverse, with sessions covering the metabolic and cardiovascular, longevity and reumathology, oncology, and the future of translational research. Together with abstract presentations, early-career researcher symposia, and networking opportunities, this meeting will reflect ESCI’s enduring mission: Research in Action: Building Healthier Futures.
