41st Annual Scientific Meeting of the
European Society for Clinical Investigation

Uppsala, Sweden
17 – 20 April 2007

Dear Colleagues

On behalf of the Local Organizing Committee I cordially invite you to join us in Uppsala at the 41st Annual Scientific Meeting of the European Society for Clinical Investigation, 17 – 20 April 2007. Uppsala is the oldest (founded 1477) and one of the largest universities in Sweden and also the university of many prominent scientists. One of the most famous is Carl von Linné (Linneaus), who during the 18th century was a professor in medicine and botany at our university. Very timely we celebrate the 300th anniversary of the birth of Carl von Linné in 2007.

Uppsala is easily accessible by train or flight and only 30 minutes away from Arlanda Airport and 45 minutes away from Stockholm. The city is old, but the 45000 students make it feel young. Uppsala is very dynamic and sometimes called Biotech Valley of Northern Europe with its more than 250 biotech companies intimately collaborating with the university and the hospital.

At the meeting we will offer you a number of workshops, plenary and poster sessions that will provide you with updates of and new insights into mechanisms of important diseases as well as their diagnosis and management.

Welcome!

Per Venge
President of the Local Organizing Committee
